FROM MOTHERHOOD TO MUSIC

Closing Mother-to-Be Exhibition

To close the Mother-to-Be immersive exhibition, which ran in Geneva from April to October 2024, I had the opportunity to collaborate with a group of independent singers, most of whom were mothers, who had never met before.

Together, we performed a live adaptation of a section of the original film, offering an additional dimension of both music and emotion, on top of what was already deemed a unique performance.

A live music performance on a dark stage with four women standing and one person in a hoodie playing a keyboard, illuminated by purple and blue stage lights with a large digital backdrop creating a mountain landscape.

CONCEPT

It was a compelling experience that opens new perspectives on immersive live performances and filmography, combining music and video in an innovative way.

We humbly experienced the connection between the present “now”, intertwined with technology, capturing a final scene profoundly human and beautiful at heart.

A performer stands on a small stage in a dark auditorium, surrounded by an audience. The performer is playing a keyboard with a large screen displaying abstract visuals behind them, and the scene is illuminated by colorful stage lighting.
A group of five women singing on stage with a large projection of a person in a dynamic pose behind them, illuminated by small standing lamps.

In front of a small audience, the idea was to perform the piece in one continuous take, with meticulously planned movements and camera angles. Every detail had to be perfectly synchronized to create a truly immersive experience.

The challenge was to capture the raw emotion of the moment while seamlessly blending music and video.
